PUBLIC HEALTH NOTICE

TOWN OF DURHAM

To protect our residents and employees and to slow the spread of diseases such as COVID-19 and seasonal flu in the community at large, we ask that you follow the CDC guidelines listed below. COVID-19 and/or the seasonal flu may present the following symptoms:

  • Fever

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath

If you are sick with COVID-19 or suspect you are infected with the COVID-19 virus, stay home except to seek medical assistance. Click here for additional information

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus or illness, but there are everyday precautions everyone can take to help prevent the spread of disease. We kindly ask staff and visitors entering the Durham Town Offices to follow basic CDC recommendations, including:

  • Stay home when you are sick or have any doubt that you may be sick
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands

If you are unable to visit the Town Offices due to illness, we offer many online services. If you need assistance that is not available through our online services, call the Town Offices at 353-2561 (Mondays and Tuesdays 8:30 am- 4:00 pm, Thursdays 10:30 am - 6:00 pm and Fridays 8:30 am - 12:30 pm.). We will work with you to accommodate your needs as best as possible.
