The Town of Durham would like to welcome Joseph Moore as our new Fire Chief today March 1, 2018.
The new chief’s official start date will be March 1, 2018. Chief Moore started his career as a Volunteer EMT in his hometown of Union, Maine. He earned his Diploma in Paramedicine from KVTC, and his Associate’s Degree in Advanced Emergency Care from KVCC. Chief Moore continued his education through Excelsior College with a focus in nursing and has earned numerous specialty certifications and qualifications in Instruction, Command and Emergency Management in the EMS and Fire Professions.
Chief Moore has spent 22 years enjoying his career in fire and emergency services in Maine, serving the Rockland Fire/EMS as a Firefighter, EMT and Paramedic. Most recently he was employed as a Flight Medic with Lifeflight of Maine in Bangor. Chief Moore’s interest in and dedication to caring for others makes him an excellent addition to the Durham Fire and Rescue Team.
Chief Moore has been married for 17 years to his wife Cara and has three sons. If you see Chief Moore around town, please say "Hello" and help us welcome him to Durham.
